Munchkin Fun was created for one simple reason – we wanted to find more things do with our family. We knew the events were out there; we just didn’t have the time or patience to sort through 30 websites and make 15 calls to find the info. We wanted one central, comprehensive, update spot to find out what’s happening this week, this weekend and next month – and Munchkin Fun was born.

We’re bringing the kids calendar back. Use Munchkin Fun to discover events this weekend, find a new class to take with your little one or plan your next vacation. Munchkin Fun pools the talents of local editors, user-submitted events and a daily updated database to provide you with the most up-to-date, comprehensive kids calendar in town.

What is Munchkin Fun?
Munchkin Fun is the modern kids calendar. We utilize local editors, data scraping and user-submitted events to create the most up-to-date, comprehensive kids calendar in town.

Why should I use Munchkin Fun?
You’re a mom, dad, grandparent, nanny, babysitter, aunt, uncle, cousin and/or friend who’s spending time with a child under 12. Figure out what to do this afternoon, where to spend Halloween, which library has story time and how you’re going to fill the weekend.

Who is Munchkin Fun for?
Munchkin Fun is for anyone who spends time with kids under 12. Moms, dads, grandparents, nannies, babysitters, aunts, uncles, friends – if you’re hanging out with a little one, we’re here for you to plan your day.

Soon! We’re expanding quickly – shoot us an email to let us know you’re interested in and we’ll put your city at the top of our list.

 

Events

Where does Munchkin Fun get its events from?
We get event information from three main sources. Our local editors (who add events daily), local venues (who add their events directly to our calendars) and a fancy shmancy computer spider (that searches the web for relevant info & auto populates our calendars).

I see an error in one of the event listings, how can I report it?
If you created the event, simply click on the event title then click “edit event.” If you didn’t create the event, email us and we’ll get it fixed ASAP.

How are Munchkin Fun events promoted?
Events added to our calendar are promoted on MunchkinFun.com, across our network of sites, in our weekly newsletters and on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. 

 

The Munchkin Fun Network

What is the Munchkin Fun network?
The Munchkin Fun network is the family of sites that choose to embed our calendar. Parent blogs, media sites, school websites and other big & small organizations choose to offer their readers current events & info through Munchkin Fun.

Can I join the Munchkin Fun Network?
Absolutely. Just click here, select how you’d like the calendar to appear on your site, grab the HTML and our info will appear on your site ASAP.

How is information updated across the Munchkin Fun network?
Every time a user adds or edits an event on Munchkin Fun, our calendar is updated across our network of sites. Changes are immediate.

Is there a fee to participate in the Munchkin Fun network?
Nope, grab the code & start displaying our info ASAP

Can I customize the information that’s displayed on my website?
Yes, absolutely. Our widget currently allows you to select the size of the calendar you’d like to display as well as the city and neighborhood(s). if you’d like further customization options, please email us.

What are the benefits of becoming a Munchkin Fun member?
Join us today! Membership allows you to add your events to our calendars, purchase premium listings, save specific events to your favorites, comment on events and be an official part of the MF family!

Is there a fee for membership?
Nope, membership is 100% free.

Is my personal information secure?
Yes, 100%. 

How can I edit my account info?
Log in, and click on your username (at the top left of each page). Click “edit account,” edit as you wish then save.

How do I change my password?
Log in, and click on your username (at the top left of each page). Click “edit account,” add a new password, confirm the new password and click save.

 

Adding Your Event to Munchkin Fun

Can I add my event to Munchkin Fun?
Yes, please do! We’re interested in any and all events relating to kids 0-13 and/or parents. One note – ongoing classes that require semester payments are NOT included in our daily events calendar. Please add them to our class directory. 

Is there a fee to add my event to Munchkin Fun?
Nope, it’s 100% free to add your events to Munchkin Fun. 

Can I add my mommy & me/music/art class?
Ongoing paid classes (that typically require signup and tuition per session/semester) are not included in our events calendar. Instead, they are featured in our class directory – please post there.

Are commercial events ok to post?
Yes, as long as they are open to the public and comply with our Terms of Service.

How can I edit my event?
Login, click on your event name then click “edit event.”

How can I add photos and, videos and links to my event?
Our premium events feature images, videos and dedicated links. To add any or all of these to your event, please upgrade to a premium listing. 

 

Premium Event Listings

What is a premium listing?
A premium listing is an event that has been upgraded to a premium status. It typically includes a photo and/or a video, it is featured on the homepage on its day and it appears at the top of all relevant search results.

What’s the difference between a premium event and an editor’s pick event?
Premium listings are paid, upgraded listings – available to anyone who creates a listing. Users pay a small fee to upgrade their events & enjoy premium display on Munchkin Fun. Editor’s Picks are editorial selections made by our team of local editors. Our editors select events that they feel are particularly relevant, newsworthy and/or interesting to our readers.

What are the image requirements for a premium event listing?
Suggested image size is 300 (wide) x 330 (high) px. 

Can I add video to my premium event listing?
Yes, of course – video display is available to all premium events. Once you’ve upgraded your event, please just add the url for the video you’d like to add to the edit screen.

 

Venues

What is a venue?
A venue is an organization, school, park, store, city or other institution that hosts an event. Most venues include phone numbers, addresses and websites.

Can I add a venue?
Yes, please do. As you enter new events into Munchkin Fun, the system will prompt you to enter a venue. Please check to see if your venue is in our system. If it is, great. If it’s not, please click “create venue” and add the relevant information. 

How can I edit a venue’s information?
Please email us to update a venue’s information.

 

Advertising 

How can I advertise on Munchkin Fun?
Munchkin Fun welcomes your interest in advertising. At the moment, our advertising options center on premium listings (upgraded event display). Once you’ve created your event, you can easily & cost effectively upgrade the listing. If you’re interested in other options, please email us & we can chat. 

Can I add the Munchkin Fun calendar to my website?
Yes, absolutely! Please click here to customize how the calendar will look on your site & get the HTML for embedding (it’s super easy, we promise). If you’d like a bit of extra support please email us.

I list dozens of kids events on my website, how can I get them added to Munchkin Fun?
If you regularly list events on your website, Munchkin Fun may be able to automatically import the event info into our calendar. Please email us your URL and we’ll check it out. We’ll review the site as soon as we can, but in the meantime the fastest way to get your events on Munchkin Fun is to add them directly.
