Toilet paper, toothbrushes & fertility kits: Sperm screening arrives at CVS
Is your man firing blanks? Find out at your next trip to the drugstore. Beginning this April, Walgreens and CVS will carry a fertility test that determines if your man is producing enough sperm to get you pregnant. Ringing in at $40, SpermCheck instructs men to combine semen with a solution, place drops of the mixture on a test trip and wait for the results – reddish means normal, colorless means “consult a physician about a complete fertility evaluation.”

Intrigued? Invest in your own kit now - Walgreens & CVS are already selling SpermCheck Fertility online. In the meantime, take a closer look at the numbers…
- $440 million: Dollars dropped each year in the US on male fertility tests
- 7.3 million: Number of women in the US who have trouble with pregnancy each year (per the CDC)
- 24+: Number of female fertility tests sold in Walgreens (think ovulation sticks & pregnancy kits)
- 30: Years of research behind SpermCheck
- 2010: The year SpermCheck received FDA approval
- $39.99: Price of SpermCount
- $100 and up: Price of in-office semen analysis
- Dozens: Number of factors in assessing male fertility (think motility, volume & morphology)
