Watching the Olympics with your kids can be a lot of fun! Cheer for athletes, learn about new sports, and celebrate wins together. These moments can show kids how hard work and teamwork pay off. Event Highlights at this Olympics
  • Basketball Men’s and Women’s Gold Medal Games will be held on August 10 and 11
  • Gymnastics. Men’s team final on 7/29, Men’s all around final on 7/31, Women’s team final on 7/30, all around final on 8/1. Apparatus finals on 8/3, 8/4, 8/5.
  • Swimming. Men’s and women’s finals run from 7/27 – 8/4.
  • Tennis women’s singles finals are 8/3 and men’s singles finals are 8/4.
  • Track and field has many events with heats and finals running from 8/1 – 8/11. Women’s 100m final is August 3rd and Men’s 100m final is August 4th.

New and Updated Events at the 2024 Olympics

  • Breaking debuted at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires and was chosen for Paris 2024 as a new sport. 16 B-Boys and 16 B-Girls will compete at the Olympics. Each battle features a best-of-three one-on-one contest of approximately one minute.
  • Skateboarding returns for a second Olympics, with both park and street events for men and women. Skateboarding’s street finals are on July 27 and 28, with park finals taking place on August 6 and 7.
  • Sport Climbing returns with three types of events: speed climbing, bouldering and lead. In speed climbing, athletes race up a 15 meter wall, competing for time. In bouldering athletes are given multiple walls and attempt to finish as many as possible in the time allotted. In lead, athletes only get one attempt and 6 minutes to climb as high as they can. The finals for these events run August 6, 7, and 9, 10.
  • Surfing at the 2024 Olympics will actually take place on the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia. The event will run from July 27 to August 4, with the medal events taking place on July 30!
