WHERE TO GO IN MIAMI

  • Grapeland Water Park (1550 NW 37th Ave, Miami; 305-960-2950) Hit up the Romero Brito-themed Grapeland Water Park for a water playground, plunge slide & lazy river. Great for big & little munchkins.
  • Aventura’s Founders Park (3105 NE 190th St, Miami; 305-466-8556Bring mini munchkins to Aventura’s Founders Park (you must be an Aventura resident or guest of a resident to enter).
  • Venetian Pool (2701 De Soto Blvd, Coral Gables, FL; 305-460-5306Dive back in time at the Gables’ 820,000-gallon Venetian Pool (you must be over 3 to enter).
  • Flamingo Park (12th St. & Michigan Avenue, Miami Beach, FL; 305-673-7766Make a day of it at South Beach’s Flamingo Park. Swim, splash, play some tennis and run around the playground. Come early to avoid the crowds (pool is closed on Tuesdays).

WHERE TO GO IN BROWARD

  • Castaway Island (3300 N Park Rd, Hollywood; 954-357-8811) Great for small children (climbing features & a small slide) and older children (swim lagoon & waterfalls). The recently renovated aquatics complex also includes a marina that provides boat rentals.
  • Caporella Aquatic Center (7525 NW 88th Ave, Tamarac; 954-597-3500) Enjoy the amenities at Caporella – which include a swimming pool with zero depth entry and double tornado slide, children’s water playground (Sprayground), picnic tables, large pavilion & concession stand.
  • Paradise Cove (900 N Flamingo Rd., Pembroke Pines; 954-357-5170) Bring the munchkins to Broward County Parks and Recreation Division’s largest aquatics facility, offering family fun for everyone.
  • Splash Adventure (401 S Powerline Rd, Deerfield Beach; 954-357-5100) The kiddos will love this interactive children’s water playground featuring slides, tunnels, turn valves, wheels and levers, water curtains, crawl tunnels, and a huge bucket that fills and empties onto the playground below at regular intervals.
  • Tropical Splash (3700 NW 11 Pl, Lauderhill; 954-357-5400) Suitable for small children (climbing features & small slides) and older children (spiral slide, two turning slides, water guns, and an oversize bucket that regularly fills with water and then dumps it out onto the playground below). Tropical Splash also has a marina that offers boat rentals.

WHERE TO GO IN PALM BEACH COUNTY

  • Calypso Bay Waterpark (151 Lamstein Lane, Royal Palm Beach; 561-790-6160) Hit up Calypso Bay for a lazy river, lily pad walk, water slides, water playground, lap pools and a concession stand.
  • Coconut Cove (20130 Regional Park Dr, Boca Raton; 561-629-8840) The kiddos will love Coconut Cove’s lazy river, lily pad walk, water slides, water playground, lap pools and concession stands.
  • Rapids Water Park (6566 N Military Trail, Riviera Beach; 561-848-6272) Make a day of it at Rapids Water Park, featuring fun for the entire family with 35 thrilling slides, a cool wave pool & a relaxing lazy river.

MUNCHKIN FUN NSIDER TIPS

  • Save big. Buy a Find it All Card for $64 and enjoy a season pass to Tropical Splash, Splash Adventure & Castaway Island
  • Go early. Quietest time & shortest lines at most parks is from 9:30am-12pm (arrive before the birthday party crowds)
  • Plan ahead. Call the park in advance to confirm hours & opening dates
  • Pack smart. Pack cash, sunblock, towels, swim diapers, water & snacks (although most parks have food available for purchase)
  • Leave at home. Alcoholic beverages, glass containers, pets, gums, water toys, masks, fins & snorkels
