lknWe love a good break. Two weeks to hang out, regroup, giggle, bond & fall in love with schedule-free days. Make the most of yours this year with our 2014 Winter Break bucket list. Three things to do with the kids before Jan 5 – bonus points for taking photos & tagging them #munchkinbreak2014.

  1. Sate a sweet tooth. There is no better road trip in town than a trip to Knauss Berry Farm in the Redlands. It’s far, it’s crowded & it’s completely delicious. Plan to stay a while – lines are long and strawberry & tomato picking are must-dos. Don’t leave without a bucket of strawberries, a milkshake, a dozen sticky buns & some herb breadsticks. Open Mon-Sat from 8am-5:30pm, closed Christmas & New Year’s Day. Note: Farm store is cash only! Call 305-247-0668 or click here for more info.
  2. Nurture a budding artist. Get artsy with a visit to the Wynwood Walls. Browse the art, check out the murals and enjoy an afternoon outside. Treat (or bribe) the kids with pizza from Joey’s, smoothies from Jugo Fresh and/or fro yo from Freshii.
  3. Hit the water. Load up a cooler, douse the kids in sunscreen and hit the beach. Tis the season for swimming, sandcastle building & enjoying a day in the sun while the rest of the county hides indoors. We love South Beach and North Beach, but are especially partial to Key Biscayne’s Crandon Park and Hobie Beach for easy parking & family-friendly action.
