day_camp1Make this your family’s best summer yet by picking a perfect camp for your little one. Check out our five things to look for in a camp...

  1. A focus on fun. Summer is a great time to make new friends, try new things & catch up on being a kid. Don’t stress about academics or performance – give your munchkins a couple months to giggle.
  2. Proper supervision. Ask about counselors’ ages, training and background. Some camps staff high school kids, others college graduates, other exclusively full-time staff. Make sure to ask about the counselor-to-camper ratio as well – the younger your child, the more even the ratio should be.
  3. Variety. Little ones thrive on exposure to different activities. Look for a camp that has a mix of sports, crafts, indoor & outdoor activities.
  4. Safety. Facilities should be clean & well-maintained and the camp office should ask you for an authorized list of people to pick up your child.
  5. Scheduled downtime.  It’s 9,0000 degrees outside and we all need a little rest. Our kids are no different. Make sure their day has some built-in low key time.
