The spirit of bold, locally driven theater returns to Coconut Grove as the Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove hosts a new showcase of Miami’s emerging and established talent. The Coconut Grove Theatre Festival offers eight original play readings that highlight the depth and diversity of the city’s theatrical voices.
Building on Coconut Grove’s historic role as a center for groundbreaking arts—from its early 20th-century amphitheaters to the premiere of Waiting for Godot—CGTFest invites audiences to experience theatre at its earliest, most dynamic stage: the first reading.
The festival, produced by WJLH Productions in collaboration with the Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove’s Arts and Culture Committee and Lost Girls Theatre, aims to revive the Grove’s storied artistic energy while introducing works destined for full production in the future.
