Winter Camp, Parties & Family Fun


Happy VACATION! Make the most of your family time with our 2019 guide to holiday parties, winter camps & local activities, presented by Miami Children’s Museum.

Miami Children’s Museum. Our Makers Series camp will activate campers’ creativity with hands on learning and experiences. Campers will grab their tools, tinker, explore, imagine and create something extraordinary with simple everyday objects! Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science. Frost Science Winter Camp: DIY Science. Calling all creators, explorers, artists and inventors! Winter Camp at Frost Science invites budding scientists to become a “maker” by tinkering with gadgets and inventions of their own creation. December 27, 30, 31, 2019 and January 2 & 3, 2020. African Heritage Cultural Center. Kuumba Winter Arts at African Heritage Cultural Arts Center  is designed to provide kids 5-16 an artistic earning experience during after school hours. Session runs from December 23 – January 3. Click here to register.

Bass Museum. Register your young artists for The Bass Winter Art Camps for ages 4-12. Campers make one-of-a–kind projects designed by teaching artists and learn through fun, hands-on art activities in sculpture, painting, design and more. December 26-27 and January 2-3. 9am-3:30pm (early drop-off and late-pick up available). Bayfront Village Park. Santa is coming to Downtown Miami’s iconic Bayfront Park to transform it into the magical Bayfront Holiday Village offering free, family-friendly programming all season long. Guests of all ages will enjoy daily 50 ft. Christmas tree LED light shows, waterfront roller-skating by Bayskate, over 50 local vendors, festive music and al fresco food and drinks. Beaux Arts Winter Park. Have a creative child? Give your child the opportunity to express herself through art over winter break. Sign up for the Beaux Arts Camp at the UM Lowe Art Museum. Monday, Dec 28 – Jan 2 (camp is closed New Years Day) from 9am-2pm. Ages 5-12. Register now here.

Burr’s Berry Farm. Don’t miss the Burr’s Berry Farm Christmas Festival. Treat your family to special activities including strawberry, sunflower and tomato picking, hayrides, petting zoo, pony rides, photos with Santa and more! We are open daily from 9-5:30pm so bring the kids for some holiday fun! Click here for more info.

City of Homestead. Explore Everglades and Biscayne National Parks, and Homestead Bayfront Park with a free guided trolley ride from Historic Downtown Homestead every weekend January 4 – April 12, 2020. Homestead will also offer a special Holiday Service every day December 26-31, 2019.

Deering Estate. The Deering Estate celebrates the holidays with an exciting lineup of events & programs for the entire family to enjoy including: Historic Holiday Décor (daily, Dec 1-Jan 3), Historic Holidays evening strolls, Mistletoe & Martinis, storytime & photos with Santa, holiday champagne bay cruise and winter camp. Downtown Doral. Let’s kick off and celebrate the holidays together as Downtown Doral’s Holiday Central makes its magical return on Sat, Nov 23. Bring the family and friends as we play and connect with holiday workshops, arts & crafts, Santa and a whole lot more for both the kids and the adults. Click here for details.

HistoryMiami Museum. Fun for the whole family at HistoryMiami Museum’s Gridiron Glory exhibit featuring the best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Take pictures with the Lombardi trophy, kick a football in the Training camp section, and revel in more than 200 artifacts from the greatest players of the game. Click here for details.

Jungle Island. Give young explorers a chance to go on quests this winter break at Jungle Island. Week 1: Take a ride on the Jungle Express as we visit three very unique locations and learn everything there is to know. Week 2: Enter the Jungle Imaginarium where campers will dive into five different imaginative worlds and push their curiosity to the limits. For kids ages five to twelve. Click here for details.

Miami Seaquarium. Winter break has never been so cool! Dive into learning about all kinds of marine life. Pinecrest Gardens. Take a photo with Santa. Sing along with carolers. Eat yummy treats, and enjoy magical stories by storytellers and puppeteers. On Dec 13 through Jan 1 from 6-9pm. For $7 join Pinecrest Gardens for Night of Lights.

The Real Food Academy. Spend winter break baking up something delicious at The Real Food Academy. Treat your munchkin to a Gingerbread Decorating Class on Dec 13 or up the ante with a week or two of winter camp. Kids 5-13 will spend the day cooking, baking, dancing and crafting. They’ll taste new flavors, make new friends & learn to love the kitchen. Sessions run Dec 23-27 and Dec 30-Jan 3. Click here to book or get info.

Southland Mall. Picture yourself with Santa! Get your photo taken with Santa at his workshop, located in Southland Mall’s Center Court, now through December 24th! Create those holiday memories that you will cherish for years! Click here for Santa’s hours.

State of Kid. School may be off, but the music – and creativity – will be ON at State of Kid! Join us from December 22nd – January 5th for special holiday programming including Jam with Jamie, EcoArt Lab, Miss Susy’s Winter Crafts, Drama Yoga, Little Einsteins and more. Pop in for a class – or 10.  Drop-ins welcome.

Taste Buds Kitchen. Celebrate the season with family bonding and gingerbread fun with our signature holiday workshops. Come enjoy everyone’s favorite sweet holiday escape in our tasty camp where we’ll put your culinary creativity to the test. We will have 2 3-day weeks of camp while the kids are out of school. Register by the week or a single day. Do you want to build a snowman? Come dazzle your way through the Kitchen as we learn to whip up oh-so-delicious Snowman Cupcakes completely from scratch.

Tri-Rail. Celebrate the season with 20 tons of snow! South Floridians dreaming of a white Christmas do not have to look any further than Tri-Rail’s annual Winter Wonderland on Sat, December 14 from 11am to 3 pm at Tri-Rail’s Miami International Airport – MIA Station. The free family-friendly event will include: 20-ton snow playground, bounce houses, food trucks, face painters, cookie decorating, coloring station and holiday carolers.
