On the second Saturday of every month, sensory friendly experiences await children with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorders and global developmental delays. Explore the Museum in a sensory modified supportive setting with limited admission and sound and lighting adjustments.

Our goal is to provide your child with the opportunity to engage in social interactions and improve the processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to optimize their understanding of and participation in naturalistic environments. You’ll also have the opportunity to network with other families.
Miami Children’s Museum Snoezelen Room
The Snoezelen room is a multi-sensory experience with incredible visuals presented in a reduced and comfortable lighting setting and is based on and was designed in collaboration with Beit Issie Shapiro, the global leader of research into Snoezelen therapy. Snoezelen Multi-Sensory Environments are relaxing spaces that help reduce agitation and anxiety, but also engage and delight the user, stimulate reactions and encourage communication. This space has been created specifically for children with autism, sensory processing disorders, global developmental delays and other special needs to enjoy with their families. It is the first of its kind in a public place and in the country.
